"... unbelievably clear blue waters hosting a diverse and abundant underwater life, making it an ideal snorkeling site. It's a postcard-perfect location!”

Icacos Cay often referred to as Icacos island – is the largest and most picturesque of the cays (little islands) that make up La Cordillera Nature Reserve off the northeast tip of Puerto Rico. It forms part of the Cordillera Keys Nature Reserve and is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

This popular weekend destination has a relaxing, unspoiled beach to lounge on and is surrounded by unbelievably clear blue waters hosting a diverse and abundant underwater life, making it an ideal snorkeling site. It's a postcard-perfect location!

Tourism

"Icacos waters are playground for marine wildlife and we encourage our community to be conscious protecting the environment and leave nothing behind. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle"

Icacos is literally a deserted island and no camping is allowed, so day-trips to the cay start early in the day. You can only reach Icacos by boat. While a water taxi might be cheaper, booking a boat with BOATLIFEVIP saves you the hassle of planning, overpacking and waiting on other people. Snorkeling gear, refreshments, and food are all provided so just remember to bring your towel, sunscreen, and a (waterproof) camera.

Although the island doesn’t have palm trees lined up for shade, it is perfect for swimming and snorkeling… you’ll discover a bountiful array of marine life. If you are lucky and the weather conditions allow it, you may be surprised to see marine life such as tortoises, stingrays, diversity of tropical fishes and even dolphins!

Icacos waters are playground for marine wildlife and we encourage our community to be conscious protecting the environment and leave nothing behind. Buy fresh and local. Avoid excess packaging. Use reusable cloth bags instead of plastic bags. Dispose of waste responsibly. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
